Math Buddy is a very good program, especially the way the activities are designed to keep the kids engaged totally. I have liked it so far. But I was wondering how it compares with Singapore math.
Is it true that Singapore math is far ahead compared to Math taught elsewhere in the world?

Singapore math uses models as a way of solving problems. At math buddy, we focus mainly on teaching concepts in a way that kids are used to seeing everyday. For example to teach GCF we use tiling method and ask the kids to tile a room without breaking the tile and ask them the biggest tile they would select to tile the room.

With regards to word problems, we too take the singapore math approach where we explain the kids to solve the problem using blocks. You can even see some problem explanations are given in question of the day program.

Math buddy is a program where the goal is for the kids to understand thoroughly the concept and apply them. Sometime using Singapore Math and sometimes using other methods. The main goal is for kids to enjoy and learn the concepts thoroughly.

Hope that helps
